Art Deco is more than a design mode that can be found in New York. There are many cities around the world that proudly promote their own Art Deco architecture, design, decorative arts, and culture of the 1920s and 1930s that fostered the design movement itself. Due to the global impact of the Art Deco style, it is crucial to better understand how Art Deco was adapted through various regions and how it was translated to compliment national styles.
The Art Deco Society of New York is a member of the International Coalition of Art Deco Societies (ICADS), which is an organization linking all Art Deco Societies around the world that holds the World Congress on Art Deco every two years.
In 2005, ADSNY was honored to host the 8th World Congress on Art Deco in New York.
